The two efficiency charts below refer to both Summer and Winter collector performance.
The vertical axes show panel efficiency ranging from 10% to 100%; the horizontal axes show the difference between the collector fluid and ambient temperatures ranging from 0 to 80 degrees.
These show that all collectors are at their most efficient when the outdoor ambient temperature equals the fluid temperature (shown an 0).
As the temperature of the collector fluid in the panel working area rises (20-60 degrees) a substantial downturn in the flat plate collector performance is indicated by the red and black curves; this is due to thermal loss.
The blue curve has a more gradual decline and this indicates the superior performance of Kloben Pro Plus 47 collector which employs vacuum seal tube technology and underline the importance of collector choice.
